A simple pair of glasses can change a person’s life. With this awareness comes the collaboration between Fondazione Lifenet ETS and Fondazione Francesca Rava – NPH Italia ETS, which has been supporting vulnerable children, women, and families in Italy and around the world for 25 years. Together, they are launching the “Lifenet National Eyeglass Collection”, a solidarity initiative to donate new and used glasses to people in need in Italy and Latin America.
Eight healthcare facilities from the Lifenet Healthcare Group will become permanent collection points: Eyecare Clinic Brescia and Milan, Poliambulatorio Chirurgico Modenese, Ospedale di Erba, Centro Medico Lazzaro Spallanzani in Reggio Emilia, Siena Eyelaser, Ospedale Regina Apostolorum in Albano Laziale, and Piccole Figlie Hospital in Parma.
The glasses will be labeled and catalogued by Fondazione Lifenet, while distribution will be handled by Fondazione Francesca Rava through its solidarity network in Italy and the NPH homes in nine Central and South American countries.
“We want to turn a simple gesture into an opportunity to improve the quality of life for those who need it most,”
says Mariacarlotta Rinaldini, President of Fondazione Lifenet.
“The right to sight is essential for social inclusion and for children’s growth,”
adds Mariavittoria Rava, President of Fondazione Francesca Rava.
The project promotes a model of circular solidarity, giving new life to unused glasses while bringing together health, inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
