On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Lifenet Healthcare renewed its social commitment by organizing non-competitive walks in the cities where is present With its health care facilities. The goal has been raise awareness of one of the most serious social emergencies: gender-based violence. Through the symbolic power of walking together, the Group wanted to give voice to women who have experienced violence and promote a culture based on respect, prevention and mutual support.
Mariacarlotta Rinaldini, communications and marketing director, mentioned how Lifenet facilities are also social principals capable of promoting relational and emotional health. The initiative disseminated useful information on the signs of an abusive relationship and the universal gesture of asking for help, as well as reminded people of the 24-hour number 1522.
The mobilization, which involved more than 6,000 people , was held in several cities: in Albano Laziale the Nov. 23 walk started from Piazza Mazzini; in Erba the hospital organized “Camminare in Rosa” in Majnoni Park; in Florence the Fanfani Institute participated in the Walk for Michela Noli, which ended with the “100donnevestitedirosso” flash mob.
In Modena, PCM promoted a walk in the Park of Resistance, while in Parma, Piccole Figlie Hospital joined the city procession with fundraising for the Anti-Violence Center.
In Reggio Emilia the Spallanzani Center invited the community to “Walk in Pink,” and in Turin Ce.Me.Di and Chiros participated as official medical partners of the Turin City Marathon, carrying forward the message of solidarity and respect against all forms of violence.
