From September 28 to October 4, Erba Hospital participated in the (H) Open Week on cardiovascular diseases, promoted by Fondazione Onda ETS on the occasion of World Heart Day, offering free electrocardiograms to citizens and, in the presence of any abnormalities, in-depth cardiological consultations.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative focused in particular on cardiomyopathies, conditions affecting the heart muscle that can impair the heart&#8217;s ability to pump blood effectively. Detecting them early makes it possible to evaluate the need for further testing and to establish, when indicated, the most appropriate treatment and monitoring pathway.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Initiatives like this allow us to bring cardiac prevention closer to people and raise citizens&#8217; awareness of the importance of not underestimating certain warning signs or risk factors,&#8221; explains Giuseppe De Blasio, Head of Cardiology at Erba Hospital. &#8220;An electrocardiogram is a simple, non-invasive test and can represent a crucial first tool to identify any anomalies that deserve further investigation. The goal is not just to perform a test, but to guide the individual, when necessary, toward a more complete cardiological evaluation and the most appropriate diagnostic pathway.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cardiovascular prevention represents a public health priority. In 2023, circulatory system diseases caused over 206,000 deaths in Italy, accounting for nearly 31% of the total, confirming them as the leading cause of mortality in the country. A significant impact also concerns women, for whom cardiovascular pathologies are responsible for about one-third of deaths.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By participating in the (H) Open Week, Erba Hospital contributed to promoting greater awareness of risk factors and the value of early diagnosis, alongside over 150 Italian healthcare facilities involved in the initiative.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This participation is part of the hospital&#8217;s commitment\u2014as part of the Bollino Rosa network and Lifenet Healthcare\u2014to promoting prevention and spreading a culture of health through concrete opportunities for information and access to diagnostic check-ups.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A week dedicated to cardiovascular prevention and early diagnosis, aimed at raising public awareness about the importance of taking care of heart health.
