A new service dedicated to the elderly is now available at the Regina Apostolorum Hospital in Albano Laziale: the Geriatrics Outpatient Clinic, aimed at the over-65 population. It is led by Dr. Fabrizio Gigli, a specialist in geriatrics, with the goal of offering comprehensive and personalized care.
The new clinic focuses on distinguishing true cognitive decline from similar conditions such as depression, hypothyroidism, or osteoarthritis. According to Dr. Gigli, an in-depth and personalized clinical assessment is essential. In cases of serious conditions, patients may be referred to UVA Centers (Alzheimer’s Evaluation Units).
The services offered include geriatric visits, cognitive, neuropsychological, and multidimensional assessments. The clinic is open every Friday from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
